Rolling Out the Red Carpet

Saluting the advantages, assets and abilities of Port Everglades, cruise lines regularly unveil their latest and greatest offerings at the Port. During the 2009-2010 cruise season the Port welcomed five brand new cruise ships to its homeport fleet including Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Equinox, MSC Cruises' MSC Poesia, Royal Caribbean International's Oasis of the Seas, Silver Seas' Silver Spirit, Seabourn Cruise Line's Seabourn Odyssey, and Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Equinox. An additional honor for the Port was to be selected as the site for the naming ceremonies of the Oasis of the Seas and Silver Spirit.

In addition to Royal Caribbean International's Oasis-class offerings, it is also slated to bring its 73,817-grossregistered- ton Grandeur of the Seas to Port Everglades in April 2010, replacing the Enchantment of the Seas for year-round sailings.

A World-Renowned Location for Cruising

Florida is the leading source market for cruise passengers. It is also a top draw for international visitors. Situated in the middle of the South Florida population center of more than five million people, many of whom are avid cruisers, it is little wonder that the Port plays host to almost every one of the world's top cruise lines.

As busy as it is, there's still plenty of room to grow, especially in mid-week slots. That's why the Port is aggressively seeking short-cruise operations as well as ships that operate outside of the standard seven-day weekend sailing U.S. cruise rotation.
