Eller Drive Overpass:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) planned project consists of a four-lane bridge overpass on Eller Drive, the primary entrance to Port Everglades, for unrestricted movement to and from Port Everglades' container and cruise terminals and to Interstate 595 and the Florida Turnpike highway systems. The project also involves the widening, realignment, and construction of service roads parallel to the Overpass. The project will allow for at-grade rail access to the Port's Southport container yards, the main container area of the Port. This grade-separation project will enable the Port to move forward on a parallel track with the development of the planned at-grade rail spur to Southport, linking it to a planned near-dock aggregate and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF). The rail spur and initial intermodal container transfer facility infrastructure will be funded by Port Everglades and FDOT. FDOT is evaluating the possibility of advancing this project within their Work Program, however, the project is also funded in the FDOT Work Program in fiscal year 2012-2013.

Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF):

A planned new Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) will facilitate the transfer of containers between rail and ship at Port Everglades once the Eller Drive Overpass is completed. The project consists of constructing rail storage tracks adjacent to container storage yards and berths in Southport to provide near-dock access to rail. The project will enable containerized cargo to be moved out of the Port on the Florida East Coast Railway line via a connected intermodal transportation system without the need for trucks to enter or exit the Port, reducing congestion on both the Interstate Highway System and local arterials.

Aggregate Facility:

An aggregate facility is planned to be constructed in Southport with an underground enclosed conveyor, an enclosed storage facility and rail storage tracks for imported crushed rock aggregate and other bulk material. The project will enable aggregate/bulk materials to be moved out of the Port on the Florida East Coast Railway line via a connected intermodal transportation system, reducing congestion on both the Interstate Highway System and local arterials.

Paso elevado en Eller Drive:

El proyecto planificado por el Departamento de Transporte de Florida (FDOT) consiste en un paso elevado de cuatro carriles sobre Eller Drive, la entrada principal al Puerto Everglades, para permitir el movimiento sin restricciones hacia y desde las terminales de contenedores y de cruceros del Puerto Everglades, así como hacia los sistemas de autopistas de la Interestatal 595 y Florida Turnpike. El proyecto también implica el ensanchamiento, realineación y construcción de calles de servicio paralelas al paso elevado. El proyecto permitirá un acceso del ferrocarril al nivel del suelo a los patios de contenedores de Southport, la principal área de contenedores del Puerto.

Este proyecto de separación de nivel permitirá que el Puerto avance sobre rieles paralelos con el desarrollo de la línea privada de ferrocarril a nivel del suelo hacia Southport, conectando esta área con un Complejo Intermodal de Transferencia de Contenedores (ICTF) para áridos planificado cerca del muelle. La planificación de un nuevo Complejo Intermodal de Transferencia de Contenedores (ICTF) facilitará la transferencia de contenedores entre el ferrocarril y los buques en el Puerto Everglades, una vez que esté finalizado el paso elevado de Eller Drive. El proyecto consiste en la construcción de vías de almacenamiento adyacentes a los patios y muelles de almacenamiento de contenedores en Southport, para proporcionar acceso cerca del muelle al ferrocarril.

El proyecto permitirá que las cargas en contenedores puedan salir del Puerto por la línea del Ferrocarril de la Costa Este de Florida a través de un sistema intermodal de transporte conectado, sin la necesidad del ingreso o salida de camiones en el Puerto, reduciendo la congestión tanto en el sistema de autopistas interestatales como en las arterias locales.

Complejo para el almacenamiento de áridos:

Se ha planificado la construcción de un complejo de almacenamiento de áridos en Southport con un sistema transportador cerrado subterráneo, un centro de almacenamiento cerrado y vías de almacenamiento para vagones con áridos de roca triturada y otros materiales a granel. El proyecto permitirá que los áridos/materiales a granel puedan salir del Puerto por la línea del Ferrocarril de la Costa Este de Florida a través de un sistema intermodal de transporte conectado, reduciendo la congestión tanto en el sistema de autopistas interestatales como en las arterias locales.
